SteadyShot Image Stabilization

Capture steady images even when the going gets rough. The HDR-AS50 features electronic image stabilization to help compensate for camera shake. This means less motion blur in your action

1/2.3" Exmor R CMOS Sensor

The Exmor R image sensor features back-side illumination for reduced noise levels and enhanced low-light performance. A Bionz X processor backs up the sensor by providing the horsepower needed to capture Full HD 60 fps images in the 50 Mbps XAVC S codec

Angle of View Adjustment

Get a different perspective on the world. The HDR-AS50 offers two angle of view settings. A Wide mode for an immersive fisheye effect and a Narrow mode for a tighter framing. In addition, seamlessly adjustable zoom mode enables you to change zooming while shooting.

4K Time-Lapse Capture

Time-lapse Capture lets you produce time-lapse movies by using 4K still images shot at designated intervals. Then the Action Cam Movie Creator or Action Cam App simply transform these images into an impressive time-lapse movie

Live Streaming via Ustream

Share ski runs, killer waves (and wipeouts) in real time. Stream scenes as they happen complete with picture and sound

120 fps 720p HD for Slow Motion

Record 720p video at a high frame rate of 120 fps, then slow it down using your favorite editing software to produce dramatic slow-motion effects

Manual Settings

Take you movies further with advanced manual settings like white balance and AE shifting, and optimize brightness and hue to match images of other camcorders for more seamless movie editing

Burst Shooting

Catch fast-moving action with burst shooting. This allows you to take a maximum of eight high-quality shots of a trick or transition, making it the perfect feature for those who love go back and analyze their style. Settings are 8 fps over 1 second, 5 fps over 2 seconds, and 2 fps over 5 seconds

Multi Camera Control

Motion Shot LE

Capture an entire action sequence in a single frame. This feature creates a composite image of a subject in motion, with variable settings for different burst speeds, which are: 8 fps over 1 second, 5 fps over 2 seconds, and 2 fps over 5 seconds

Action Cam Movie Creator for Mac and Windows

Make your movies look even better with Action Cam Movie Creator. Produce and edit videos quickly and easily thanks to a range of features such as 4K Time-lapse Capture and slo-mo video. You can also flip your videos clockwise or counter clockwise by 90° with Movie Rotation, or use Multi View to combine up to four movie footage segments - captured simultaneously by different cameras - and make a split-screen composite

Action Cam App

This app for iOS and Android allows you to ingest clips to your mobile device, make basic edits, and create effects such as time-lapse and slow motion

Loop Recording
